What’s the power of an affirmation? Is it true that our thoughts become our words and then our actions?

I had this question when I embarked on my personal development journey to better deal with difficult thoughts and emotions. I wanted the freedom to choose my own thoughts and inner dialogue, rather than letting my mind run me.

But how does one achieve that? For me, much of the power of positive thought comes from writing, saying, and meditating on affirmations. When my inner dialogue is pleasant, I can trust life and myself. These are some powerful words of affirmation I sometimes use:

On Body Positivity

  1. I deserve to feel safe, comfortable and confident in this body.
  2. I accept myself the way I am. My body is perfect the way it is.
  3. I am at peace with my body.
  4. I allow love to fill every inch of my skin, and I will embrace the warmth this love gives to me.
  5. I am grateful to be living in this divine female body.
  6. Even though I’ve felt ashamed of (body part), I commit to changing it.
  7. If my body requires healing, I will take joy in doing it.
  8. My body is a tremendous gift, and I will treat it with love and kindness.
  9. My body is my responsibility, and I will do what’s best for me, for me.
  10. My (body part) is perfect the way it is.
